Abbo Cookies

Many years ago, back when I was an assistant dean at a prep school in California, we published a cookbook as a fundraiser; faculty and staff were asked to submit recipes. I submitted my Abbo's oatmeal cookie recipe, and called it: "My Grandmother is Better Than Your Grandmother, Oatmeal Cookies." My Abbo still makes cookies and we get batches mailed to us here in Minnesota, frequently. Whenever a new batch arrives Ana says: "Pappi got more Abbo cookies; and Pappi is very good at sharing." We just got a new batch recently and I'm proud to say Ana is so in love with them I trust she'd be tell any kid on the playground that her Great Grandmother is better than their Great Grandmother. The tradition continues....
