Oh Sh*t, A Paradigm Shift

I've lived through a few paradigm shifts in day -- they were often prompted by these singular moments when an event so fundamentally unique occurred that it altered the way my world functioned, forever. I remember being a kid and my dad brining back a Commodore 64 from work; I'd never seen a personal computer before. Or the first time I saw a person talking on a cell phone; I wondered why the heck they needed such a thing. The most recent paradigm shift happened last week: Ana wanted to go outside, but I told her to wait. She hates waiting. But instead of pushing her head against the glass like she normally does, she paused, looked at me, looked at the door, and then simply turned the knob. The door opened. She stepped outside. She looked back at me. I don't know who was more shocked. Her, or me.
