Every time we visit Ixhuatan, we spend a morning going to the cemetery so we can leave flowers on my grandfather's grave and sweep out the crypt where he's buried. This time my Aunt Yaya, Maribelle and my uncle Oscar invited Ana to join us on this family tradition, too. Ana helped wash away the headstone and got to leave a flower on both her great-grandfather's grave, as well as on her uncle David's grave; he died many years ago. Here are some photos from that morning trip.
