Ana's aunts took special care to introduce Ana to her Oaxacan roots. Her Tia Maribelle took the lead by having Ana measured for a traditional dress typical of the Isthmus region of Southern Mexico, one which is worn by all of the women of Ixhuatan. We drove a drive out the the tailor's home, where Ana was measured for the dress; next we made sure we got ourselves invited to a wedding so we could show it off. Ana's Tia Yaya (Yaya's real name is Maria Candelaria, who Ana is named after) took the lead on showing Ana how to dance in her new dress. Ana's Tia Petri added the final touch by adorning Ana's hair with pink roses. Below are some photos of the both the wedding and the process of getting ready for it.
