Toddler Promises

Just found Ana in her crib with an open jar of Vicks Baby Rub in her hand -- she must have reached through the bars to snatch it off the dresser.

Me: Ana, what are you doing with that?
Ana: Nothing.
She hands it over. I screw the lid back on.
Me: You know you can't eat this stuff, right?
Ana: Yes.
Me: Did you eat it?
Ana: No.
Me: Have you ever eaten it?
Ana: Pappi, I promise you -- I've never eaten it, and I never will, because it tastes bad on my tongue.

  1. So funny!

Don't you just love little kid thinking? It reminds me of when M was younger and she'd be playing in her room even though she was supposed to be sleeping. I'd open the door and I could see her in the dark, frozen in mid stride towards her bed. She wouldn't say anything or move thinking or hoping that I wouldn't notice. When I finally spoke out she'd just slink back into her bed. Lol.

    Happy new year! christina

  3. That's hilarious! Ana will walk backwards, thinking we won't notice her leaving the room. Happy New Year to you guys, too!
