Ana enjoyed a recent visit to the Excelsior Christmas Village with her two grandmas, Nancy and Pat. She met a reindeer, drank cider, and, in what would have been considered by most kids to be the main event, got to meet Santa Claus. She was suspicious of the big man, however. While most kids sat in his lap right away, she refused, even after some cajoling from Santa himself. She was okay telling him what two things she wanted, however: a piggy and a microphone. When he suggested that Ana needed to get closer so that he might hear her better, Ana looked at me suspiciously and actually stepped away. "Trust your instincts, girl," I told her. She did.
