I took Ana to the Conservatory located at the Sculpture Garden last week. One of the sculptures depicts a giant glass fish jumping from a small pool; patrons have converted this pool to a wishing well; there are countless coins littering the water. Ana, of course, wanted to add her own coins but, I didn't have any change. Sensing her disappointment, I rolled up my sleeve and reached into the water, plucking out about fifty cents in coins. I misgauged the depth of the water, however; my sweatshirt got soaked. Ana took the coins happily and threw them back in the water. When she was done, I stood there with one wet sleeve and a group of Japanese tourists (who'd not seen before) starting at me in horror.
