I love kid art, especially budding kid art! Did you know there is a universal evolution to kid art? As awareness of the body and environment grows so too do the drawings. Typically it starts with a circle, and some general markings for face. Then arms usually come out of the head or straight out of the body which is also the neck (not separate). Then awareness grows about limbs and fingers/hands and toes/feet are added. From stick figures you'll start seeing shaped bodies, rectangles and triangles being the most common shape used. Then finally later facial features become a little more detailed and then clothes. It's so much fun to see through the years.
At one point, early on, M was drawing figures upside down. It finally dawned on us that she was watching us draw sitting across from her and so she copied what she saw! Funny huh?
