She's a Minnesotan

Here's a joke I tell people sometimes: ten years ago I didn't know anyone from Minnesota, and now I live with two of them. It's true: I'll always be a Toledoan, but equally true is that even at two and a half Ana is a full blown Minnesota girl. Here's a sampling from the last two weeks to prove my point:

1) Ana to me, as I prepare to leave for work: "Pappi, bring a pair of boots for your car. That way, if your car breaks down, you don't have walk through the snow in your shoes."

2) Ana, when inviting anyone anywhere says: "Hey, want to come with?" (Minnesotans drop the "me", "you," and "us" at the end of this sentence. Always.)

3) Last night when I hugged her too hard, apparently, and she said: "Be careful with my sinuses."

4) "Look! It's raining! Winter is over!" Only a Minnesotan would interpret our recent storm (below) this way.
