While at the cabin last week, Ana had a rather large collection of Chinese-made plastic toys to play with while she lounged on the shore of Trego Lake. But once she made it to the water, all the imported junk took a back seat -- Ana discovered the good old American fresh-water snail. Who knew something so small and so stinky could capture her imagination for hours on end. She loved fishing them out, holding them up and placing them gently back into the muck. She never saw a snail actually come out, and if she had, I can't even imagine what her reaction might have been since they essentially look like poop with eyeballs. All the snails were returned safely to the water, no worse for the wear (although two of them did make it into her mouth, but only for a second; how nasty).
