Mike and Kathy bought Ana her first sled, which we tested today on the River Road trail. It was a smooth ride, and lots of (safe) fun. I picked up the sled every time a dog walked past, and Ana was strapped in snugly the whole time. I add these two details because any time you do anything remotely fun with your kid outdoors, people on the street look at you like you're letting your child play with sharpened knives. (Jen and I have agreed that I will wait until Ana is at least one-year-old before I teach her to throw knives; I mean, she's got to have some way to defend herself from passing dogs).
